Technical Information
Chasis
Robust fabricated structure of steel plates designed to resist any distortion under the most arduous operational conditions. Mounted within the chasis are traction motor, hydraulic motor and hydraulic tank. This provides protection for these Units and also helps to achieve a low centre of gravity. Access is provided from the open centre chasis, revealed when the battery is removed. The overhead load guard is fitted as standard equipment. Opening is provided top facilitate battery removal.
Drive Motor & Transmission
Various speed, totally enclosed, strip wound series motor with Class 'F' insulation, generously rated at 3.4 KW, 48V. The motor and drive unit is supported on rubber mountings for shock protection. The drive axle is a fully floating type, independently mounted on the chassis and can be removed without disturbing other sub-assemblies. A new design of toothed integral half shafts with involuted splines are used on these trucks to ensure longer life and higher fatigue strength.
Scuttle
The scuttle unit is bolted on the chassis in front of the driver and contains the electronic traction control gear, accelerator linkage and brake linkage.
Electrical System
The electronic pulse width modulation control system is well proven worldwide and effectively eliminates wastage of the current through resistances. The system provides infinitely variable speed control from inching to full speed. The control system also activates the Pump motor drive and other associated logic circuits for providing safety features and interlocks. The pump motor is heavy duty, totally enclosed, strip wound series motor rated at 6.3 KW operating on 48V and has Class'F' insulation.
Battery Protection
A low voltage protection device incorporated prevents over-discharge of the battery. A sensing relay in the circuit immobilizes the hydraulic system when the battery reaches its safe discharge level. The traction, however, is available to enable the truck to be driven to the charging bay. This protection prevents misuse of the battery and ensures a longer life.
Anti-Plugging
An anti-plugging device is incorporated in the circuit for safety. It prevents sudden change in direction of travel of truck while in motion.
Hydraulics
The Hydraulic system is designed for high pressure operation for better efficiency and low losses in the system. Reinforced low loss hoses with good factor of safety are used throughout.
A gear pump is used which can stand the shock loadings common in forklift trucks. The assembly of motor and pump can be pulled up without disconnecting hydraulic hoses for inspection or changing of brushes.
An adequate capacity hydraulic oil tank with a removable micronic filter unit is included in the hydraulic system and fitted to the tank. A mesh filter is also fitted in the inlet to the pump to prevent dirt entering the system.
Articulate Steering
The rear Axle made of cast steel is centrally pivoted on torsional rubber bushes and ensures constant ground contact for all wheels even non uneven ground.
A wide steering angle gives excellent maneuverability. All steering linkages are provided with ball joints to make steering wheel to the linkages is through a robust steering gear box of the latest design.
Mast
The Mast unit is independently mounted on the chassis making its removal easy. It is made of special steel sections and braced with steel plates for rigidity. The inner mast runs on steel rollers fitted with ball bearings. Lateral adjustments are possible with adjusting pads. The fork carriage runs on rollers fitted with bearings and is so suspended on two chains having a high factor is safety. Two double acting tilt cylinders provide smooth forward and back tilt and maximum load rigidity.
